Our speaker will be Brian Pike, retail manager, at Halifax Seed. Following Brian’s presentation, we will be holding our Annual General Meeting. First AGM on Zoom..you won’t want to miss it!!

June 2 Monthly Meeting All about Peonies

All about Peonies 

 

 
This month's guest speaker Shawn Mallet Shawn will discuss the types of peonies, care and maintenance of these herbaceous or deciduous plants.

 

Shawn Mallet has grown up gardening since his youth in Geary, New Brunswick and now owns and operates The Gentlemen’s Backyard, an online store based in Quispamsis, NB.   Shawn will only ship you plants that we would want to receive and always find quality in our products from our bulbs, raspberry canes, perennial plants and peony roots. They also take pride in offering a vast selection of fruits and berry plants.  Shawn believes that no garden is truly complete until it has edible plants.

Plant Sale




Jan Wilshaw  will be having a plant sale plant sale is on 

May 15 and Sunday the 16th between 9am-1 pm


20 Douglas Dr Quispamsis NB (Meehans Cove Road )


Under NB COVID guidelines this is an outdoor informal event which allows 50 people to be present. Please follow guidelines by masking and socially distancing. Sanitizer will be at the gate. No Cars in the driveway, but we have a wheelbarrow to carry plants to your car. 1-gallon pots will be $4, 5-gallon pots $7.

May 5 Monthly Meeting -James Goltz -The Evolution of Fredericton's Botanic Garden

 


James Goltz -The Evolution of Fredericton's Botanic Garden 

James Goltz, a very keen naturalist and Past President of the Fredericton Botanic Garden and has devoted his time to volunteering in the Garden and will be speaking on The Evolution of Fredericton's Botanic Garden 

The Fredericton Botanic Garden is a non-profit charitable volunteer-based entity that has been in existence for over 30 years and is situated on a 52-acre parcel of land owned by the City of Fredericton.  Despite challenges to acquire the kind of resources that would enable the development of costly and grandiose gardens on this site, nine new gardens have been created and developed in the past 3 years thanks to resourcefulness, creativity, and many dedicated volunteers, members and supporters.  Find out how we are realizing our dreams and continuing to evolve.


This meeting will be held via zoom to Garden Clubs, and the link will be sent out via e-mail.

Members may remember seeing Frankie Flowers as our keynote speaker at the Garden of Dreams 2013 event.
 
Frankie is an experienced horticulturist associated with his family's business, Bradford Greenhouses, in Bradford, Ontario.
 
He is the author of four gardening books and twice has been named Landscape Ontario's Garden Communicator of the Year.
 
He is a popular TV host and weather presenter on City TV.

Fundy Gardeners Meeting Feb 3,2021

 This month's virtual meeting of Fundy Gardeners, the guest speaker will be Freeman Patterson, a  gardener, photographer and Fundy Gardeners member. Freeman will be speaking on his photography in Claude Monet's garden at Giverny France. One of the most famous gardens in France where Monet painted some of his most famous paintings  Many paintings featured his water lilies and Japanese bridge paintings, and his renowned Impression paintings.
