Monthly Meeting March 4th




Joe MacKay is the co-owner and cider maker at Yip located at Mackay Apple Orchard in Long Reach. Joe Mackay views Yip Cider as a leader in the orchard’s overall business with lots of room for growth. And they have something to celebrate as well. Four of their Yip ciders recently picked up medals at the Great Lakes International Cider and Perry Competition in Grand Rapids Michigan.

Febbruary Meeting

A reminder that there is no January meeting and the next meeting is February 5th, 2020.
The topic is "What Makes an Award-winning Garden Design".
The guest speaker is Jim Landry Executive Director of Landscape New Brunswick.
Jim has judged and saw many gardens throughout the country.

Potluck contribution- if bringing a main dish-salad, casserole etc. please divide into two portions. One plated desserts are fine.

Bring a Centrepiece for your table, if desired

Gift for Christmas exchange ( $15 or less) if desired

Fundy Gardeners Meeting October 2, 2019

Image result for bob osborne cornhill nurseryGuest Speaker Bob Osborne from Corn Hill Nurseries will talk about preparing our vines, especially clematis, for winter. He will begin his presentation at 7:30.
Please read carefully due to changes in the meeting format
This month’s meeting will commence at 6:30 to allow the following activities:
Bob will be bringing plant material which will be sold from the parking lot
from 6:30-7:15. Those wishing to purchase may use credit cards or cash for
their purchases.
The bi-annual book sale will also be held in the meeting room of the hall
starting at 6:30 and ending at 7:15. Please support the initiative by bringing books,
magazines and the like to the meeting prior to 6:30. Small change would be
appreciated by Doris and her team when making your purchases.
Commencing at 6:30 and continuing until 7:15 Sharon and Connie will be doing
a sign-up and collecting $30.00 for the November 20 workshop called
a “Natural Winter Design with a Surprise “. More details will be
available at the sign-up table.
Although it is not confirmed Patricia Suttie hopes to have your bulbs available for
dispersal between 6:30 and 7:15.
Thanks to Lynn Kinsella 50/50 tickets will be sold commencing at
6:30 and ending at 7:30.
Thank you to Sue and Jenn, David and Joan, and Sharon Eldridge for
providing treats for this month’s Meeting.
Please take time from your shopping to enjoy the snacks as we will
NOT be taking a break before the speaker.

The door prizes, 50/50 draw, treasures report and announcements will be
made directly after the guest speaker and the meeting will be adjourned.

August Meeting - Aug. 7,2019

Wednesday August 7, 2019 Fundy Gardeners Meeting 7 pm at St. James the Less Church Rothesay.
Speaker
The guest speaker this month is George Scott from Scott’s Nursery Ltd located in Lincoln just outside of Fredericton at 2192 Route 102.
Scotts Nursery has been providing plants and planting advice for over 80 years. George and now a third generation of Scotts operate the largest nursey in Eastern Canada. Their web page offers great ideas for the novice and beginner gardener,including monthly newsletters on timely topics.
George will be speaking on Hydrangea, their care and new species available.
Hydrangea will also be available for purchase after George’s presentation: cash, checks or Visa # (to be put through when he gets back to the greenhouse) will be accepted.
